Food For Health is seeking a highly motivated Nutrition Research Scientist for full-time employment, to contribute to cutting-edge international research projects in nutrition and public health.
This is a unique opportunity to engage in impactful research at the intersection of nutrition, epidemiology, and public health, in collaboration with leading international teams. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, collaborative environment and will play a key role in advancing innovative projects with global reach.
The position is supervised by Dr. Renata Micha (Associate Professor of Human Nutrition, Founder of Food For Health).
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and analyze international research studies in nutrition and public health
- Lead and co-author scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Collaborate with global research teams (Europe, U.S., and beyond)
- Contribute to grant writing and research proposal development
- Support the creation of scientific tools, datasets, and frameworks
Required Qualifications - PhD in Nutrition, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field (completed; exceptionally near completion may be considered)
- Proven track record of scientific publications
- Strong analytical and statistical skills (Stata, R, or Python)
- Excellent written and spoken English and Greek
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in international collaborative research projects
- Grant writing and successful research funding applications
- Mentoring or supervising junior researchers
- Knowledge of global nutrition databases and tools
- Experience applying advanced statistical methods and/or machine learning techniques in nutrition and health research
Position Details - Full-time position based in Athens, Greece (with potential hybrid/remote flexibility)

Selection Process
The selection will take place in two stages:
- Interviews:
Shortlisted candidates will be notified by Friday, September 26, 2025.
Interviews will be conducted in person during the week of September 29 – October 3, 2025. - Presentations:
Candidates who advance to the next stage will be invited to deliver a brief presentation of their research work (in English) in person on Friday, October 10, 2025. Additional instructions will be shared by Friday, October 3, 2025.
Final Decision & Notification
The process will be completed by Wednesday, October 15, 2025. All applicants who participated in the evaluation stages will be notified by email of the outcome.
